Much to Abe's dismay I have decided to start a blog. I thought that it would be a good thing to do and help me with remembering the events that take place in our family's life. I guess I should start with the first day of school.
On August 2oth Sophie started first grade with Mrs. Clark and Ashlynn started Kindergarten with Mrs. McCallum at Quail Lake Environmental Charter school. They both did so good. No tears or even worries.
When I got home the house was so peaceful!!! Bethany played quietly by herself and Beckett ate breakfast and took a nap. It was great. I got a couple laundry done and a load of dishes before I had to pick up Ashlynn.
Friday I signed up Sophie for soccer so that will be fun, we think. Sophie didn't want to play if she had to play in front of people. I told her that the only ones watching would be the parents of the other kids. I talked her into it. So she agreed to try it out. Practices a couple times a week and games on Saturdays. Lucky Abe since I'll be at work! I don't think he thought about it before we signed her up! Haha.
Monday began the homework routine for Sophie. I can't believe the kids have homework starting in Kindergarten, but I guess that's how school is these days. Man, I sound old. I can't even believe what they learn in Kindergarten. Besides learning to read, they do math and science, too! I can't wait to see what Sophie learns in first grade. I am afraid that I won't be able to help them with their homework in a few years.
Bethany starts preschool next week and she is beyond ready. Tagging along with me to drop off her sisters the past few years has prepared her. I will have 6 whole hours a week with just 1 kid. I am so excited! The things I can do...Costco, Sam's Club...even Target with only 1 kid begging me for stuff, and Beckett doesn't know how to do that yet.
Super exciting stuff going on at the Poduska household. And there is much more to come!
